We went here for lunch because they had a free table in their outside seating area. The food is good, the prices are very affordable, which makes tha value for money very good indeed. Service is good and friendly. View all feedback.
What John L doesn't like about Bar st michel le retro:
Giselle has now retired but the new owners have kept the menu much the same. For me, however it is a bar at which I am welcomed and they even remember my tipple. In a town where the tourists money seems to increasingly rule this bar is busy with breakfasts for the workers right through to late night drinkers where, dare I say a whiff of tobacco smoke pervades the inside room. Friendly family run bar, coffee, just light lunches, no food at night, Saturday nights small live jass group. It's now my local as I now live in Menton.
We 've come to like this place. We have stopped-by sporadically over the past few years but having had a few bad experiences elsewhere in the area (where tourists are either unwelcome or ripped off or both) we 've recently popped in more frequently and it 's just a great place to visit if you want a more relaxed/authentic bar.
If you want a drink in Menton in a very nice bar, go to the Retro bar. Consumers are very affordable and the place is authentic, it is friendly, people talk to each other. Francois, the waiter is charming, not forgetting Chantal, very efficient. You can also taste the bruchettas and a small light kitchen to accompany your drink.
I like this family atmosphere the prices are honest .and the sangria nice with the current heat. and the sprite aperol too. You have to get hydrated.
