Having recently moved to the area I have now found my new favourite coffee spot. This is such a beautiful place, tucked away with lovely sofa spaces and lovely garden to chose from and as a bonus, doggy friendly. What a fantastic assortment of cakes I opted for the Nutella cake and wow! Such a large slice and incredible taste. I will definitely be back as everyone was so friendly View all feedback.
What Spencer B doesn't like about The Holy Cow.:
I just wanted to take the opportunity to make a point about the disappointing service. We arrived on time and we were sat our table which was chosen for us as we'd pre-booked. Handed menus, but then had to wait nearly 10 minutes before our coffees and food order were taken. The place wasn't busy, there were at least 2 staff. We could hear them talking in the kitchen. Great find on a sleety saturday morning. We had not booked but a place was very kindly found for us. Food was great and big portions. Staff were very friendly and helpfu.
I have been in a few times for the banana and caramel sauce pancakes and I am honestly impressed each time they taste great. Friendly staff and a clean relaxing environment plus the delicious pancakes 5 star rating!
Blooming brilliant! Wanted somewhere for late breakfast en route from Bath to Dorset. Searched google maps n this fitted the bill. Great venue, nice welcome, awesome fodder. We had veggie delight breakfast; the home made seed and cranberry toast exceptional, and the rest of the meal best we’ve had in any cafe. Thanks folks!
First time visit, a recommendation when we visited nearby Wheelers for cloth purchase. Superb Eggs Florentine, and cooked breakfast, coffee and tea. Lovely decor, and the tables were properly cleaned! Lovely staff, will often stop over when we are in that area.
We have been here for coffee and it's lovely in the summer, but lunch was disappointing. Lunch out is a real treat and this wasn't. Soggy, flavourless potato wedges (no herby flavour as on menu) and dull burger, plus too much mayonnaise on the coleslaw, so nothing was fresh or tasty. We left without ordering a coffee and cake, it was all so bland and made one of us feel a bit nauseous. Shame, as we'd love to leave a good review of a nice local cafe. Standards are high nowadays and it's right to expect fresh tasty food cooked by someone skilled who cares. Have they gone downhill??
