While some patrons may find the limited vegan options disappointing, others enjoy the veggie chili and sweet potato fries. Additionally, the bar offers a wide selection of craft beers, making it a popular spot for locals and visitors. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make it a great place to enjoy live music, watch sports, or simply relax on the patio. Overall, Young Avenue Deli is a must-visit destination in the heart of the historic Cooper Young District.
Not sure why this place is even listed on this page. There are very few vegetarian options on the menu, no more than I would expect to find in any meat restaurant, and none of them are characterized as such. They also blew my order and brought me a sandwich of cheese when I ordered it without cheese. There is no reason to go here if there is an actual vegan restaurant less than 100 meters away. My friends and I tried to go here more than once, but we were always ignored by the staff. I waited for almost half an hour before I gave up. It is not worthwhile for poor food quality and customer service. Better to go over the street to imagine Vegan!
We stopped here to go because our family ate in a nearby restaurant that had absolutely no vegan options. There are no tons of menu that is vegan friendly. My husband got the Veggie Chili we both really liked. It was full of vegetables, even okra! He also goes the sweet potato fries that were good and heavy on the cinnamon, yes! I have the veggie hoagie, which was okay. Only paprika and onions and mushrooms on a bun. Pretty simple. The guy who took our order was really nice and if you were looking for a bar to watch sports that would have some veggie options this place would fit the bill. I can't imagine we're back.
Like no other place on earth. Literally the best place to eat and drink in the world. Are there other bars in Memphis? If so, I am unaware.
Young Avenue Deli is more than a restaurant or a bar. It is an iconic staple in Cooper Young with excellent food. The come as you are atmosphere invites people from all walks of life to eat a meal, enjoy some music, or sip a cold one on the patio. I personally love my wings double dipped, my Stiegl with a shot of gin (Thanks Tessa), and a heaping side of pimento cheese fries with extra ranch. I’ll give ya 5 stars but if I could give 10 I would.
