A few weeks ago, my husband and I had a great time at the restaurant for a "Date Night" where we also tried their kindertaxi for the first time. The food was delicious with plenty of diverse options to choose from. We opted for three courses and each dish was beautifully presented. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was excellent. Food not great, overcharged on bill, had to keep asking for things ie wine list, then the wine we had ordered, cutlery for main course. Nowhere to sit for a drink before the meal, the few seats they have had been reserved for people to watch Rugby. Shame as it us a lovely building, will not return. It's an absolutely beautiful place. It's a gem of a place and the staff are so nice and friendly. We stopped off for a meal and ended up having a lovely 3 course. They had a set 3 course but me and my wife asked if they had Prawn cocktail for starters (as I'm a oldie), it wasn't but nothing was to much trouble for the staff and chefs. The food itself was gorgeous, I had the venison bourguignon, and it was mouth watering. It had an extensive menu, something to suit everyone. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it. I would highly recommend the Royal Oak, you will not be disappointed, that's for sure.
A couple of weeks ago my husband enjoyed “date night” we had our first kids taxi too… it was a great success. The food here is really good, there’s sufficient and varied choices to suit most. We pushed the boat out to three courses. All were lovely. It’s got a really cosy feel and the service was great. Thanks guys. Sorry we forgot photos of the mains… we were enjoying the Italian Red!

Very good food served by well informed and helpful staff. We have been advised that it is wise to book a table. Well worth a visit.
