There are many reasons why there is often a line out the door at N. Lee Bakery in South Melbourne, and the fantastic banh mi sandwiches are definitely one of them. Made with the freshest ingredients and served with friendly service, regular customers are sure to be satisfied with these delicious sandwiches. I tried the spicy pig belly banh mi and my five minute wait was well worth it. The baguette was fresh and crunchy, the salad was crisp, and the pig was sweet and tender. I particularly enjoyed the pickles and shredded carrots, and the coriander added a beautiful flavor. The staff at N. Lee Bakery are always friendly and despite being busy, they always have a smile on their face. Treating yourself to a banh mi or other tasty treats from N. Lee Bakery is a simple pleasure that is affordable and sure to make you happy.

I really love this place. The food is amazing (I had the speck and egg roll with BBQ sauce), and the service is truly authentic and welcoming. I see no reason to go anywhere else.

Very tasty Bahn Mi. Plenty of filling. Nice paté, not too salty. Bread roll probably the best I've had with a Bahn Mi. Soft, yet crispy and warm. Owners are very nice. Service was quick. Might be a $1 or so dearer than other places but worth it. Highly recommend. This is a good Banh mi. But the prices have gone up from 12$ to 13.70 in the matter of a week. I do not think $13.70 is what someone should be paying for a Banh mi. In Richmond, you can find 15 banh mi shops where the pork belly banh mis are sold for 10$ or less and they are just as good as this place, if not better. I’m not saying the Banh mi’s aren’t good, but they are not worth the price that they sell for anymore. I can’t bring myself to come back to this store again. But the people are nice and the service is quick. But there is a mismatch between price and product IMO.
