I decided to give Cafe Kokko another try after a year. On a cold night, I was craving a hot noodle dish and ordered the spicy Pad Thai along with their Four-in-One appetizer. The Pad Thai surprisingly had no bean sprouts, and instead of balanced heat, the chef added a few whole red chilies, which was a bit much. The Four-in-One appetizer was disappointing, especially considering it cost nearly $8—it consisted of just four tiny pieces. On the positive side, the service was quick and the portion sizes were generous. Overall, it’s a decent option when most places are closed and you want something different from fast food.
I enjoyed the oyster chicken and vegetables, which were very tasty. The restaurant was quite empty, with only one waiter attending. Despite that, I had a pleasant dining experience.
We really enjoyed our Thai dinner at Cafe Kokko and will definitely be returning! I had the Green Curry, which was wonderfully authentic with just the right amount of spice. Compared to other green curries nearby that tend to be too mild, this one hit the mark perfectly. The portions were generous and offered better value than other local Thai spots. There was so much chicken in my curry that I couldn’t even finish it. My partner chose the Massaman curry and said it was one of the best he’s ever had. The roti was delicious as well! I’m surprised the overall rating isn’t higher and hope they maintain this quality consistently moving forward.
