This was the first place I felt like I had real German cuisine! The sauerkraut was superb! The service was great and the beers were cold! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Loewen:
wir waren kurz vor 15.00 Uhr im Restaurant. Zuerst recht langes warten auf Bedienung, als diese dann kam hiess es (und das nicht all zu freundlich) wenn noch gegessen werden wolle müsse man sofort bestellen. Wir bekamen die Speisekarten und wurden regelrecht zu einer schnellel Auswahl gedrängt. Eine änderung der Bestellung war 20sec nach Angabe der Essenswünsche nicht mehr möglich, da die Bestellung jetzt halt eben s... View all feedback.
My wife and I visited this beautiful, romantic German restaurant in the evening of October 30, 2021. Once we entered the loews, we were immediately greeted with a smile of a very professional and extremely knowledgeable lady server. then we sat on a romantic table. this lady took our drink order and later our meal request. my wife and I had a steak and pork valley. the steak was perfectly boiled to a medium rare, the red bevelled and red wine sauce was delicious, along with a side order of sweet and fresh, homemade speatzel with what I thought to be an emmental cheese sauce. I had the pork talloin with what looked and tasted like wild mushroom cream sauce and made home, fresh spetzel. the fresh green salad and the vinaiigrette were delicious and mouthwatering. the atmosphere was quiet, romantic and several families enjoy a great evening in the loewen. we will definitely return to this great restaurant.
Many history in this building, a hotel and restaurant. but in comparison to other restaurants it is in the round an overpriced tourist trap. don't get me wrong. after German standards the waiter was great. it was not the service that went out at that time. my main course, a steak. medium rare, came within 5 minutes after the order. there is no way that was made fresh. no steak knife. no broth. no salt and pfeffer. paper napkins. no offer at dessert or post-dinner coffee. my weinglas remained full. the wein was at a reasonable price. not 92-97 point wein, but perfectly drinkable and on place with a 12-$15 bottle back to home.
My wife and I stopped for a night in Meersburg en route back to the UK after a holiday in Austria. We were recommended this restaurant for dinner. It was a fine evening and were able to sit outside. The standard of service and the...standard of the cuisine was of a very high order and we can only but endorse the recommendation.
We visited the restaurant in June 2019 with my mum and dad. The service was friendly, the wine was lovely and the food was very nice. My mum and I are Veggie and we had the rosti and the pasta. Both were lovely. My hubby...and dad had pike perch and perch and both were nice. We would highly recommend eating here.
The place definitely has it's own charm and style, very cozy. For a child was a bit complicated to get a simple food there is no chicken in the menu, and the fish from the kid's menu had some sauce which our child didn't...like... but she is quite picky, so might be no problem for other children. The grown ups food was good, as well as the wine. Service quick and very friendly.
