I stopped by to grab some dinner on the way home. It is located on the far end of Jellicoe road, after the turnoff to Morrin road if you're coming from Panmure. I ordered a mixed grill and they said it would take about 30 minutes. I was ok with that and saw them light up some charcoal to grill up the meat. The mixed grill had chicken and lamb over rice with a side salad. it was quite tasty and probably would have bee... View all feedback.
5 Stars is not enough for this place My best friend brought me here for dinner, and we had looked forward to this. It was our first time, and we had really high hopes (especially because we waited all day to eat a proper meal). Lala Mamitas did NOT disappoint, my goodness. 12 10 experience throughout, worth the wait and the food was absolutely phenomenal. *Chefs kiss* Easily the best Middle Eastern Jordanian food, I’ve ever eaten in my 23 years of existence. We got two XL mixed grills 12 10, the salad even had pickles. 3 meats, cooked to perfection and extremely filling. Garlic Yoghurt, Babaghanouj, Hummus and Labneh (We bought the smallest size for all, and we literally had to pack them and take them home because there was more than enough for like 4 5 people) Mixed Shwarma: This we decided, was an 8.5 10 , ONLY because there was a bit too much sauce , and a bit over powering. However, everything else was bang on fantastic, the serving, flavours and such tender and well cooked meat. Chips was standard, and could’ve used some salt or seasoning, but a nice side. The owner service: I am so upset that I did not get the owners name, but he is an absolute gem. He gave us the hummus as a gift along with the other dip we had ordered as there was a mix up, and also let us pick a movie to watch while our food was being prepared. He is so friendly and energetic, and passionate about his restaurant , customers and his food. It was so lovely to have a chat with him. It was evident that he cooks with his heart and soul. Love you lots Lala Mamitas, We will be returning most definitely! Darsh Zyzz
I turned up for lunch on a Friday and ordered the lamb wrap. It was excellent... tasty, well seasoned and plenty of it. It was one of the best wraps that I've ever had (I have had better but not for a while... or by much). This establishment is still setting up having opened only 4 months previously. I would have given them 5 stars except that the menu item that I really wanted to try (Lamb Shoqaf from the Charcoal menu) would have taken 20-30 minutes to prepare. I don't blame them for this and I expect that once they're properly set up, they'll have charcoal menu items available in a warmer. However, as a customer it is slightly disappointing to find that the advertised menu item you really wanted to try isn't easily available. Further, photos on google maps heavily feature items from the charcoal menu whereas wraps aren't shown at all. That said, I'll certainly be returning in the future. The food was excellent and the owner operator friendly and personable. I will however, be delaying my next visit until such time as they're better set up with charcoal menu items ready to order.
Loved the idea of bbq on charcoal being cooked in front of you so decided to try the whole chicken and kebab. Apart from the chicken slightly burnt overall not bad.
This place is relatively new and since I live nearby I thought I'd check it out. I really liked the setup of the place and the outdoor seating was nice on a sunny day. The two guys working there were friendly and the food came out quickly. Enjoyed the food I had and the prices are pretty good as well.
Highly recommend to all. Nice environment with seating outside the store if you wish to dine in. Once you set foot inside the store you will smell the delicious meat that is cooking Friendly counter staff, nice menu options. Love kebabs and I think I found one of my favorite spots
