Don Juan Mexican Grill Maumee

I ordered a tamale, but I wasn't a fan of it. Although it was homemade, it seemed like it was made by someone still learning the craft. The dough was very thick, and honestly, I couldn't enjoy it. I've had tamales before—I'm not an expert—but I wouldn't order them again from this restaurant unless I knew they were from a better batch. It was quite heavy! On a positive note, my margarita was excellent, and the enchiladas I had were delicious. I have no complaints about anything except the tamale. Our waitress was humorous and lively, playfully teasing me while my friend sat across from me enjoying the banter. I would be happy to be served by her again in the future. All the other employees I interacted with were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. I would definitely like to return and try another meal at this restaurant.

A wonderful restaurant experience! The waitstaff was excellent – attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious, and the drinks were skillfully prepared. The waitress even held off serving my beer until she resolved a foam issue, which I appreciated. While it wasn't the cheapest option, the prices were fair for the quality of the meal we received. It was a last-minute decision, and I'm very glad we went there!

I've been visiting Don Juan for years, and they used to have a fantastic happy hour. Then it went away for a while. I remember receiving a flyer in the mail last year or so that said it was coming back. I got another flyer last week, so I decided to stop by for a drink. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't match what was advertised—there was no happy hour! The server was kind enough to honor the promotion when I pointed it out, but that’s not a good business practice. If there’s no happy hour, don’t print flyers promoting it!

My husband and I decided to do Mexican for dinner. We were greeted by two employees, and taken right to our seat. Our waiter was great! We can not say enough great things about Vicente C.! He was prompt on making sure we didn't have any questions about the menu, brining our drinks out and even refills without needing to ask, when our order was taking longer- he communicated that as well and made sure we didn't have somewhere we needed to be. Thank you for a great experience!

We ate at the Don Juan Mexican Bar Grill Maumee, 551 W Dussel Dr, Maumee, OH 43537 and had the best service I have had in a long time. Gina, our waitress, was very nice and offered to let me use her nail glue because my sandal broke. She helped me pick an amazing drink and made sure our party was happy with everything we got. It is nice to see people actually care about the people they are serving and not just the pay check they are getting. We will definitely be going back and hopefully Gina will be there with here bright smile!
