After a terrible experience six years ago, I decided to give this restaurant another try. I was pleasantly surprised by the improved quality of the food. I tried the duck breast dish, which was cooked perfectly and had a delicious contrast in flavors with the celestial garnished purple cabbage and kartoffeln. The only critique was that the marination was uneven, with one piece being too salty and the other piece lack... View all feedback.
What Hannah J V doesn't like about Plume:
I visited Plume as part of a Christmas party on a dull afternoon. Fortunately, the staff at Plume were enthusiastic about hosting groups for lunch, which lifted our spirits. We began with a brief wine tasting featuring selections from The Runner Duck and Heron's Flight, before indulging in a delectable wine-infused lunch inside and later in the spacious gazebo. I enjoyed a fantastic vegetarian platter tailored to my... View all feedback.
The Grape Juice was a show stopper!! Delicious food, stunning views, friendly staff..but that Grape Juice though..I have never tasted anything quite like it. Encore, Encore.
Lovely dinner this evening. Generous starter of local breads and with a wonderful carrot with capsicum spread. Followed by the very impressive Japanese pancake. The addition of the wasabi infused oil was genius. It gave the dish an amazing lift. We finished up with the cheese board which included again a generous array of cheese crackers bread dried fruit fruit pate and my fav the freshly made take on a Florentine. Almonds pistachios in a wonderful crunchy toffee mix. The wine I had with the Japanese pancake was the runner duck Pino Gris which was as usual wonderful. I accompanied the cheese board of kapiti cheddar and blue plus a soft cheese with the taylors port. Great combination. Will definitely be back again. Congrats to the chef, and front of house for making this a very enjoyable evening.<br/
Really delicious food, with equally good wine. I got their lamb with Couscous that was on their menu when we went in May, and hubby got one of their Indian curries both dishes were very tasty. I didn’t expect any Indian dishes at an vineyard restaurant, and definitely didn’t expect it to taste authentic, but there you go. My lamb was succulent and perfectly cooked with no one flavour overpowering the dish. A menu that everyone can enjoy
Beautiful restaurant location and scenery. We entered and was taken to our table. It wasn’t busy when we arrived but started to fill up soon later. I had pre-booked and asked for a nice little area for my partner and I as it was my partners birthday. We were seated by the window and it was a lovely spot, as it was quite intimate. The lights were dim and it was very lovely as we had some privacy. <br/ We were offered some seared beef. Not sure of the name but it was lovely. <br/ <br/ I ordered the <br/ • Okonomiyaki (Japanese Pancakes)<br/ • Meatballs of the day<br/ • Vineyard Trio<br/ <br/ My partner ordered<br/ • Vension Pie<br/ • Crispy Duck Leg<br/ • Sticky Date Pudding<br/ Wine<br/ • Runner Duck Passion<br/ <br/ I loved my Okonomiyaki. The combination was beautiful.<br/ The Meatball of the day was made with coconut cream and noodles. I was really looking forward to this but it really didn’t please me, however my partner liked it. I felt it was missing something and wished I ordered something else, but this was my first experience so it’s not stopping me to come here again. <br/ The Vineyard Trio was a lovely dessert. The gelato was delicious, and all flavours worked well.<br/ <br/ My partners Entree, Main and Dessert was all delicious. However I felt that his main which was the Crispy Duck Leg, didn’t seem like a main. The flavours were lovely but didn’t seem to be enough filling for the wraps. <br/ However his dessert was delicious and they had written happy birthday as requested. <br/ <br/ Overall my experience here was lovely. <br/ The waitresses and waiters were all lovely and provided great service. We were also approached by the head chef which was a quite nice of him. Never been visited by a head chef of a lovely restaurant before so it was nice to talk to him. <br/ <br/ •Food 3.5/5 •Service 4/5 •Ambience 4/5
Was able to be seated at lunch without a booking. The vegetable curry was great, lots of vegetables, mild spiciness, came with salad, rice and papadams, decent portion size. Menu is affordable (curry was $27, glass of wine was $10), wines are good. Very enjoyable.
