What Antoinette Carpentier doesn't like about Bertrand Roy Restaurant:
Restaurant recommandé par des amis ayant été très satisfaits d'un dîner pris chez eux. Donc sans hésitation nous avons réservé pour un dîner pour 6 personnes et avons été très déçus par les plats à la limite de la fraîcheur en particulier les calamars farcis et raviolis .... J'espère que nous sommes tombés sur un mauvais jour et qu'il ne s'agit que d'un petit accident. View all feedback.
Food was generally delicious, sometimes surprising (the "sèche" i.e. some kind of squid, cooked with a touch of Asian taste), the plates are well dressed. Waiter is attentive, efficient, friendly and polite. House wine is very pleasant and comes at a very reasonable price tag.Surprisingly, a few small details are not quite at the same level: as first course, I took the "ballotine of goat cheese with duck magrets" - the salad going with it feels like coming from a cheap plastic wrapped pack. And with the excellent frozen nougatine, the 2 apple slices are dry and of mealiness character ... probably sliced too many hours before.Last but not least: there is a pungent sewage smell in the main dining room. It it noticeable as soon as one walks into this part of the restaurant. Fortunately, this problem does affect the veranda area where I ate. Due to this, I hesitated to rate it with 4 ... gave 5 finally due to creativity, appearance and taste of the food, and the attention of the waiter and cook. I will come back.
From the welcome as we arrived to the moment we left, our evening was spent enjoying every mouthful. The service was polite and friendly - without being over intrusive and the meal itself was delicious. The Ravioles de Gambas were full of flavour and the pasta just right. Filet de Loup to follow (sea bass) in a pistachio sauce was accompanied by a delicately cooked and presented parcel of sauted seasonal vegatables - and was absolutely delicious. Fresh fish combined with fresh vegetables - can't go wrong really ! My parner had the Filet Mignon (steak) and was equally delighted. The chocoalte parfait and nougat glacé lived up to the recommendations of our friendly waiter - as did his suggested wine. And all that for only 24 euros each (plus wine) ! Other similar restaurants in Martgues charge the same for one course. Give this one a try !
Nice restaurant and friendly waitor who speaks english. Food is very good. Can surely recommend this place
We have been dining here for 5 nights. Very friendly owner and waiter. Good food and wine. The place is modern decorated with dressed tables. Prices are not high in comparison with the fine food served at the table.
What a great restaurant! The welcome, the menu choice, the service and most importantly the food are all superb. We recommend this restaurant.
