What User doesn't like about Ocean Side:
El lugar y la ubicacion es muy bueno(aunque se nota la falta de mantenimiento)...pero es un sitio historico con excelente fachada.La comida es recalentada o marcada...pre preparda ....y eso realmente es inadmisible desde mi punto de vista...la vajilla es buena y la atencion cortes. No habia cafe.."por que se habia roto la maquina"..Los postres si bien no son malos...pero no tienen nada para destacar....faltan detalles... Pretty small place, but very cozy and beautiful inside. It rained hard and there weren't many guests, but the owner was there and spoke with a few regular. They offer specialties every day. We took from these suggestions “Bonito Oceanside”, which was a “tunido fresco” to make it easier it was a realm. I thought it was a kind of tuna, but not. I expected more of this dish personally because I like mackerel fish when it is smoked and salty and not just boiled with vegetables. A little tasteless and too fishy. The “Coquelle de Langostinos” was very rich, like a julienne style, creamy and decorated with a beautiful flowers of potatoes. Risotto with seafood was also excellent, very gentle and delicate. I'm sure there are many other delicious dishes to try, but we only had one evening and were mostly satisfied with our choice. I would have tried the Conejo (Krabbit, Cordero (lamb, seafood ravioliis and paella valenciana). The wine list is not so large, occupied only two sides, but it allows you to choose a wine to your taste and purse. All wines are from Argentina, even Chablis, we haven't met yet: Prices are above average. Apple cake with vanilla ice cream for two was not so big but naturally delicious. The owner offered us a glass of local late harvest to share with our dessert. They sell it through a bottle, but he still poured us a glass. Great, friendly and attentive service. Can park the car next to the restaurant.
A beautiful restaurant, excellent ambience, romantic and intimate, light and music invite you to a wonderful evening. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and professional. A place you would remember.
The ocean was beautiful. An additional bonus was shopping on the banks. There were great items to choose, but it was a bit expensive. I went away with some great things.
I'm here twice now and both times were wonderful food with great service. Meals are cheap. The seafood is fresh and prepared with beautiful sauces! Try this place when you are in Mar Del Plata!
Mar del Plata is a seaside resort in Argentina. As with most seaside resorts there are hundreds, if not thousands of eateries to choose from. Most of them fair to average at best. Oceanside is an elegant seafood restaurant perched above the water. It is a smaller intimate restaurant with a great menu of fresh fish, pasta and of course some meats for those that can't get away from the wonderful steaks in Argentina. You get the feeling this is a family run restaurant yet very professional but not at all stiff. It is quiet and pretty inside and a place that will soothe you while having a great meal.
