Old Bucs Barbecue - Manvel

A hidden jewel in the heart of Manvel. The burned ends are on another plane. Wow. The ribs fall delicately from the bone. The potato salad was great and the beans were even better. I recommend Old Bucs for all your weekend BBQ needs. Thank you for making our visit unforgettable.

The first time in the area was looking for a BBQ. The reviews looked and had to try. People were kind, helpful in the order. You order the pound family style and it has not disappointed. Children and adults loved eating. The Bbq sauce was sweet and delicious. The spices on the BBQ blend great with the sauce. We tried turkey, brisket and sausage. The brisket was a bit fat for me, but everyone else loved it when it made super tender and juicy. The sausage was right and the turkey had a big spice at the edges. Mac and cheese and potato salad are made of scratches and very tasty. We will definitely come back.

This time, I went inside for the first time since the pandemic started. The interior layout has been remodeled for streamlining the order process, enhancing the seating area and an all-around updating of the interior. The jukebox with a great selection of tunes is hyuge. And it's free! I know I'm in the right place when Robert Earl (Houston local) is playing while entering. The owners are friendly and happy to engage in conversation. The kitchen is attentive and always smiling. I love their brisket and the burnt ends aren't caramelized in some sugary sauce like other places. The jalapeño cheese link was ?. I definitely recommend a stop here.

We just tried this place out for the first time today and we now realize what all of the hype is about! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner. He was so welcoming and walked us through how to order and what he recommended we get to eat. We had the Brisket, Burnt ends, Turkey, and Macaroni and cheese. It came with bread, pickles, cheddar cheese, onions, sauce, and crackers on the side. Every bite we ate was amazing. My husband an di both said this was the best brisket we?ve had in a long time. And leave that sauce on the side alone you don?t need it. They have a drive through if you just want to get it and go or the have tables inside and on the patio available. Be sure to get there early because when they sell out, they?re out.
