We stopped off for lunch after visiting the lovely Castle Manta, easy parking in the square. Although it looks like an osteria from the outside, and also the dècor inside is pretty old-style, the menu, although limited, is definitely on another level. The tartare is made with the finest quality meat, served with an oyster leaf that transforms the flavour. The hazelnut risotto was delicious, as was the leg of duck. Perhaps the desserts are not as good as the main courses, but still tasty. I would really recommend this place,but be prepared to pay a bit more than you would if it were a traditional osteria serving comfort food, because Monica, the chef, is on another level, and the waitress couldn 't have been more attentive or kinder. Brava Monica!
We picked this place on the fly and were happy we did. During our lunch it was mostly locals. Always a good sign although with the close proximity to Castle della Manta, I am sure they get a good tourist business. Very good food, friendly service, patient with our lack of Italian.
Il ristorante è accogliente, con un menù essenziale ma con piatti elaborati, ingredienti di qualità e una vasta selezione di vini. Il prezzo è conveniente e il personale è molto simpatico, un vero punto di forza della struttura.
È il locale magistralmente condotto da Monica, moglie di un caro e più di me giovane amico. Ci ero stato altre volte. Sempre stato bene. Per motivi di distanza e tempo, mancavo da un po'. Grande errore. Rimedierò tornando più spesso. Monica è un piccolo genio culinario e conosce la qualità delle materie prime come pochi. Tra tutto ho il commosso ricordo delle acciughe impanate con ripieno di ricotta ed erbette da Premio Nobel per sapore e tecnica di preparazione e di un semifreddo meraviglioso accompagnato da una trionfale sinfonia di fichi in varie declinazioni. Scelta e suggerimenti sui vini splendida. Dio c'è!!!
