Luigi's Italian - Manitowoc

Stopped in for lunch and ordered a chicken parmesan sub, which arrived quickly. It looked good and upon closer inspection, I found 3 grilled chicken tenders covered in sauce and lots of Mozzarella. The chicken wasn't the traditional breaded/fried type. Although I'm sure it's a healthier option, it's just not quite right for a chicken parm sub. I bit into it and it was good, mind you, but the grilled taste of the chicken was just a different texture instead of the fried cutlet. The sandwich was good overall, and I ate the whole thing. I'm not saying the sub was bad in any way, just different than I expected. Be aware of this if you order it.

This is a perfect place for those seeking Italian from matrons in the Midwest. The gravy is savory, tangy, and sweet as an American marinara should be. The calamari, salads, and entrees are beyond fresh and delicious.

Food was very delicious and very generous portions. We came in for lunch but there were no lunch specials as such so we ordered off of the dinner menu. It was good but too much to eat for lunch. Had to order in the bar and stay in the bar until our food was ready rather than going to a table and having a drink.

Had dinner here this last Saturday 6/2 with my close friend Larry, as both of us were staying just down the street while in the area to cover the MotoAmerica races at Road America. WOW! What a neat and lively place with an excellent and delicious menu of options, excellent portions (one meal definitely enough for two meals! , and service out of this world. You folks knocked it out of the park, as we both were super happy with everything and look forward to getting back when we are in the area again for the races. Thanks so much, and HIGHLY recommended!
