But when my coll... read more My good friend C has been telling me that Detoxify Bar is such a great place. I wasn’t really excited to visit it though as it sounded healthy. But when my colleague (another C) dragged me to go on detox, I finally dropped by Detoxify Bar. Hello, Detoxify Bar! I was still on detox when I visited the place to meet up with C. But the friendly staff behind the counter told me that it’s okay for me to eat as long as the ingredients are organic. Well… if that’s true then… R and I ordered the following: Tomato Basil soup (PHP150), Rosemary Chicken (PHP275) and Meatless Pastaless Veggie Lasagna (PHP275).

The promo was adding 2 pesos you get the second dish free (should be equal or lower amount) It was a great promo as prices here is a little in the high end (due to healthy choices of ingredients) Tuna Melt 3 Cheese Maple glazed chicken (recommend to eat this dine-in) Pesto pasta Ambiance is great here, makes you feel that your eating in a comfy place too bad I was in a hurry: Tuna melt was okay but the serving looked I'm getting value for my hard earned cash. 3 cheese with the pesto on it was phenomenal! Pesto pasta was okay, taste was good so as serving but a little expensive. Next visit would be a dine in for sure. Ambiance

Meal preps the night before can be very helpful but if it’s not your thing, you have to find healthy options. I found one in the form of Detoxify Bar in Shangri La Plaza. What I ordered (full serving, takeout): Tuna Melt Wrap (P310) – I like that their sandwiches come in whole wheat wraps. If you want a heavier sandwich, you can opt for a panini. Pesto Pasta (310) – I LOVE pesto. What I liked about Detoxify Bar’s pasta is that you can choose between Italian Durum Wheat (the usual) and Spinach Moringa. I chose the latter. Al dente and flavorful. Yum! Maple Glazed Chicken (P300) – I was torn between Garlic Tomato Chicken and Maple Glazed Chicken and ended up buying the latter just to know if it tastes like maple. I wanted to ask if they used authentic maple syrup but I forgot. He he. Anyhoo, it tastes mildly like maple (the kind we use for pancakes) but the meat’s a bit tough. Focaccia Toasts w/ Herbed Olive Oil Dip (P65) – Love the olive oil dip and the freshly grilled focaccia! My verdict: I like it when healthy food “don’t taste healthy”. You know, the usual misconception that healthy food is bland and tastes weird. Detoxify Bar is NOT at all like that. I’m adding this one on my list of go to healthy restos. I’ll try their green juice next time...
