We found that restaurant by chance since our hotel was in the area. New idea in ordering. Food is made in front of you. Pasta was very good, portions are big. Atmosphere nice and quiet. Place to visit if you are in the area. View all feedback.
What Adélaïde Ramos doesn't like about Vapiano:
Like any other Vapiano in Germany; the concept is program; zero service and cantine food. The quality of the products is poor; the salads for example are yellowbrownish. The execution is poor; the pasta for example is soft and soaked with a mediocre sauce thrown...roughly into cheap bowls by some unmotivated kitchen staff. And overall the whole experience is just poor. Neither food nor drinks are convincing including... View all feedback.
It is a chain, so don't expect gourmet food. But with nice weather, it is very pleasant to sit in the terrace facing the Rhine river. It is a self service, you order, they give you a device that rings when your food is ready,...everything is prepared on the spot. Pizza is good, we never tried the pasta but the plates looked very appetizing. If you don't want to spend a fortune and have a nice lunch, Vapiano is good enough. i wouldn't chose it for dinner, though
Tried to get a baby chair, all of the where dirty and my wife had to clean it herself because the staff was too busy. Queues up for pasta minutes and when I ordered I saw that one cooking plate was used to...boil some soup that should be a part of their preparation Mise en place before dinner service and not occupy the space to deliver an efficient service. No bread offered. No mini insalata offered with main course. Dirty table when I sat down, oil not refilled... Toilet soap dispenser no soap, I could go on and on. When I paid the lady asked how my experience was and I said not good as I had to wait far too long, she just said “yes we have many people tonight” Definitely one of the worst Vapiano’s I’ve been so far. Not recommended
My friend invited us to dinner therefore ordered the food with her card. Upon exit I got yelling from the receptionist for having my card empty
Vapiano can be found throughout Germany and other countries. It has a certain vibe to it but we find the Vapiano in Mainz to be acceptable with the pleasant Rhine river nearby but give it a miss on weekends due to crowding and the slowness...of service. Food is acceptable without being special and the range limited. The restaurant setting is nice enough but crowding puts you off at busy times. There are better choices
There are lot of options do eat and drink, and tables inside and outside. The climate is very romantic and the service is good. I chose for a classic pasta and red wine. It was wonderful
