So, After hearing a lot about the Chuck Blade burgers my friends and I visited the walnut tree in loose this evening for a takeaway treat. I am a massive burger fan to be fair and was rather excited to try these tasty burgers that everyone keeps raving on about. Upon arrival we were told that the food would be no longer than 30 minutes which was fine and we excepted that they were busy so had a drink or two at the bar. Jacob was ever so helpful and friendly and kept us updated on times but after nearly a TWO HOUR wait we thought that this was unacceptable to be honest. After then asking Denise if we could have a free drink to accommodate the waiting time we weee blankly refused there and then and no chance of the meal becoming half price. I have worked in the hospitality industry for years and was quite frankly disgusted with her attitude of well it’s nothing to do with us as they are a separate entity to the pub! Wrong answer LOVE! All the while you have people cooking in your establishment then you should be able to make an executive decision as to what to do for the customer instead of palming it off to the Chuck Blade chef whom I must say clearly knows how to cook an amazing burger as they were very nice indeed for the record or saying that the management here at the moment so it’s out of my hands. Absolute poor management style
Picked this pub for family Sunday lunch awful food and overpriced won’t be back! One baton of carrot and one baton of parsnip. Yorkshire pudding was cold was told they had no more but I could have cauliflower cheese instead!!!
Fantastic pub, cosy atmosphere, friendly staff locals and good food. Accommodating chef and landlady, lots of choice for both food and drinks and reasonably priced.
Wonderful afternoon with my family at the Walnut tree in Loose. Saturday afternoon sounds in the sunny beer garden being entertained by a great trio Blue Red and Grey members of a Who tribute band. I seen many live bands here on Saturday after including a 9 Piece Blues Brothers band. It’s a really welcoming pub with a happy atmosphere
After reading the reviews, we decided to give the Walnut Tree a try for a birthday lunch. Unfortunately, we were extremely disappointed with our experience. Despite it being around 2 o'clock, the restaurant was cold. We ordered 2 diet cokes but received 2 pints of coke instead. We chose the fish and chips with peas and the Walnut Tree Signature Burger. While there are appetizing photos of burgers on Trip Advisor and Google, the burger I received was far from appetizing. The meat tasted like a low-fat burger from Asda, and the chips seemed like they were from McCain's and were served on a wooden board, making it difficult to eat. The cutlery was also not very practical. My partner mentioned that the food didn't look appealing when it arrived, and unfortunately, she was right. I couldn't even finish my meal. The fish and chips were just as disappointing, with hard peas and mediocre fish and chips. We won't be returning to this restaurant.
