My wife and I have been to Odyssey several times. The service is always good, sometimes better than good. The food that we have had there has always been excellent - the steaks are superb. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there on various occassions, and have always left satisfied - and full of good eats. Most recently we had lunch - steak sandwiches. The steak is locally sourced from a well knownbutcher who se... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Odyssey On The Strand:
Went here for lunch with family and although meals were prompt to come out and the rest of the meals were okay the moussaka was frozen in the middle. The staff were helpful in assisting the complaint and apologised explaining their “microwave had broken” after waiting over 15 minutes and everyone else finishing their meals, we went to the counter to explain that we would just like a refund please as we had somewhere... We had a very enjoyable lunch at this restaurant. The ****** Mary's were fantastic! We ordered two lamb gyro dishes, each slightly different. One was served on open toastie with chips and salad, while the other was a souvlaki with chips and salad. Both dishes were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great, and the atmosphere was relaxed. It's a shame we didn't find this place sooner, as the whole menu looked amazing. We would have loved to try some other dishes. Next time we are in Townsville, we will definitely be returning.
A pretty poor experience all round. Ordered at the counter and with a beer and glass of Pinot, also asked for a glass of ice “What do you want that for” ? Was the response. I was a bit amazed, but before I could reply was told “we provide water but not ice. Definitely not”! The meals where absolutely underwhelming. I ordered a bowl of Fat Fries” which I’m sure arrived in store with a “mrs McCain, or similar wrapper on them, and seemed to be done in an air fryer (like cardboard) while my wife’s lamb cutlets were pretty tasteless. Not to be recommended.
My family and I often visit Odyssey. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is lovely. We especially enjoy the open grills. The owners are very friendly.
We had a wonderful experience at this Greek-inspired establishment. We enjoyed the French toast, affogato, and large latte. The food and beverages were excellent. The service was exceptional. We will definitely return for more.
Our Welcome and initial ordering was great, after all we had made a booking! That and the location turned out to be the only highlights! We ordered Chef 's Favourite breakfasts and fruit crushes. The fruit crush $8 was for me a tasteless mix of syrup with no hint of the delicious description of Mango, Guava and Lychee. When we returned them and the owner or supervisor as we were told was dismissive and disrespectful referring to my dining companion as Darling several times. He declined to add or replace drinks without further payment. Stating We sell thousands of these and have no issue Implications being for me that the customer is not always right !! My companion opted to finish her crush, mine I gladly declined despite the price! Breakfast was passable if a little on the pricey side maybe not for the location, location . The breakfast however came with poached eggs which were completely hard a first ever! and pesto which was only on one piece of our two Turkish toasts. The described shaved parmesan had apparently taken a leave of absence! After the interaction regarding the fruit crushes. We elected to eat and go! When you pay $66 dollars for breakfast I expect a lot more!! Not a place I will revisit when I return to Townsville!
