Although reason of me to get the pad Thai, I still enjoyed it very much! The taste was pretty good (4/5), but the portion size was perfect (5/5). It was just enough to fulfill my hunger, but not to the point of being too full where I could not go/ needed to take home. I think our server was the owner? Not quite sure, but she was so friendly and made the experience so much better (5/5). Beautiful ambience and space (4... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sa-bai Thong:
Just okay. The pad Thai gains some points for portion size and amount of meat included (quite a bit), but it loses points for having a ridiculous seasoning to food ratio and lacking vegetables. All I could taste was sauce sour, salty, and a little spicy. The flavors are in the right place but it's all you taste. There are little dots of egg, tofu, cilantro, and green onions, but that's it. It's just a big, over sauce... View all feedback.
Love the Thai curries (my favorite is the jungle curry). They have a lot of vegetarian options and the food is very flavorful. When ordering the spicier curry options, the food doesn’t come out tasting like a hot mess. The chef integrates the spice with a blend of herbs very nicely into the curries so that the spiciness doesn’t just taste like they added red chili over the top. Only negative comment I have is that the prices have gone up a lot over the years, but other than that the food is terrific!
I love the curries, all of them! And the larb is just as delicious as what I always eat when I'm in Bangkok. Great service and reasonable prices. This is the best Thai restaurant in Madison.
I loved it ,something different. Salmon wrapped in a banana peel! Roasted vegetables! Asked for sweet sour sauce,it still had a kick to it,but soon good!
I went to this location because I have tried the one at the Odana location. I wanted to see which location was better and this place was a notch better. It’s a little less appealing looks wise on the interior than the other location. We ordered the Tom Ka with shrimp, chicken cutlet plate, sautéed catfish with vegetables and a drunken flat noodle. The Tom Ka soup was absolute delish. The chicken cutlet plate was very crispy and good. The Drunken Noodles/Pad Kee Mao was one of the best I’ve ever had. The catfish dish was pretty good as well. This place is probably the best place for Thai in Madison. I’ve been to a few Thai places when visiting Madison and this place blows them all out of the water.

Overall, I have to give him a 5/5 to be a wonderful experience for me in Madison! Anyway, come back before I go. P.S. my friend had one of the curries (I forgot which) with coconut milk and it was sooooo good... Next time.
