As many times as we've been to John Pass we've never made it down to this restaurant. A local recommended we get a bite to eat here. Located at the very end we were pleasantly pleased with availability at one of the bars. Plenty of sun and shade. Live music. What Kathie L doesn't like about Bamboo Beach Grill:
On vacation and wanted to have a drink and listen to the live music. Moved a table out of the sun and an older bald headed man who was an employee came out and made a scene in front of everyone. He was waving his hands in the air and saying, No, no, no! He jerked the table and chairs out from under us and over to their original spot. He was extremely rude. Meh, I dunno. We really looked forward to this place... BUT, maybe our expectations were a bit too high. Staff can?t be bothered to acknowledge you went you stand there looking for where to go as you walk in, not to MENTION seat you. (Not a great start) While we listened to the great live music, would have loved to not go up to the bar to get my own water... again, still can?t be bothered to acknowledge us, after we sat cleaned our own table. And if you think this place is ?dog friendly? (one of the main reasons we went), no. They *tolerate* dogs. THAT?S IT. Fish dip took over 30 minutes to come out then our entrees came out 45 seconds later. Not what the point of ordering an appetizer was. Server never checked on us once. Had to literally follow him around the place asking for our change. We gave him $100 bill for a $40 lunch he thought we didn?t want change...???? Not awesome. PS. Most importantly, I suppose; the food. Not even close to worth the hassle. ??????????? Service ruined it for us.
Great little spot! The service was fast, the drinks were sooooo yummy! The food was abundant and tasty. They had live music, very entertaining. Overall, a fantastic spot to pause and relax while exploring John's Pass! Highly recommended!!
Great experience! Our server and bartender Jake did a great job taking care of us. Good music even on a Monday night. Recommend the shrimp tacos.
Live music was great, wait staff Tonya was short-handed but made it work with a smile! Beers were cold however the food was just underwhelming.
Great place by a lot of shops. Friendly people, good drinks and food
