Cook Out - Macon

We were passing by on I-475 and chose this place once we got off the exit and saw our choices! It was our 1st Cook Out experience. Prices were very good, but quality left something to be desired. Just wasted, unhealthy calories. I had chicken tray and expected more than a sliver of chicken inside a bun. I chose onion rings and a chicken quesadilla as my 2 sides. Other half had cheeseburger (cheese 50 cents extra) plus slaw and onion rings. We both got cups for drinks at $2,19 each but with refills. Food trays were the balance of the $6.99 on menu board for $4.80! In conclusion, I was not impressed even though the prices were not bad. It just didn 't seem that clean with tables in a long room that seemed more like a waiting area at a car dealership. Bathroom was nasty and had no paper towels! Now I know what the Cook Out is so I doubt I will be back to this one or any one. I wonder if this is where the Big Brother team got the nickname a few years ago!

This would be a very good place to eat if they cared about the freshness of the food. The fried items are usually cold and the tea just doesn't taste good anymore. My biggest disappointment is Cook Out stopped selling fried okra. I stopped going here. I may give the Tom Hill location a try.

This place was right next to our hotel, so we decided to try it.Thank goodness we did! Ordered a double cheese burger $5) and my wife got 2 corn dogs it was like $2) then 2 drinks. Food was out within 10 minutes the food tasted great! The staff was very nice, and dine in area was clean.Highly recommend.

The burger is good but through service was lacking, a lot. They got my order wrong but it wasn't too bad. However, when they asked me for my order and I started they told me to hold on, then after 2 cars on the other lane placed their orders, they asked me 2 more times to repeat my order. After I paid, I did not get a receipt. I had to wait a while and when someone came back to window he tried to charge me for someone else's order. I told him I paid but that wasn't my order. He asked what I had when I told the person I east talking to while I waited so lying to hold on he closed the window and left!
