Mae's Que House - Lynwood

My favorite place in Chicagoland for turkey tips. I just went online to look at the menu to place an order, and saw that they're closed for the foreseeable future. Hopefully it's not forever because the barbecue is really good and the service is great as well.

Heads up, this restaurant has closed down for the unforeseeable future. Their instagram page states that they need time to regroup and refocus so they can come back better than ever... This is not goodbye, but see you later.. (IG 's last post 12/31/22). If you are looking for a rib house/smoke house, consider Mae 's! I tend to get the same thing each time I go. I am a fan of their smoked meats. Brisket is a win, but those rib tips will definitely have you coming back for more. The meat is smoked to such a tender loving consistency. Like, fall off the bone, melt in your mouf...yes MOUF good! Have you ever had smoked mac n cheese? SCREAMING SMOKED MAC N CHEESE FRIENDS!!!! The first bite will have you questioning how you ate all the previous meals of your life! lol Yes, it is that good. I usually order at lunch time. Grab a double meat special. My sides are usually their greens/green beans and the mac n cheese. Now don 't get it twisted, they have an array of other yummy sides to choose from, but I have my go to sides to make MY experience tasty. Look, don 't take my word for it, if your mouf enjoys good eats that are smoked to perfection with or without sauce...then you be the judge. Just go get you some! Order ahead! Check out their website. And they have a newly renovated building that includes a dance floor, a sweet bar and the energy of its patrons makes it a good time, every time. Blackpeopleeats on Instagram gave a recommendation for Mae's Que House and I said Okay I'm always down for some good barbecue and they are black own. Say less. Me and the mister drove to the location. It is hidden but you can smell barbecue as you get closer to the building, so I knew we were in the right location. When we arrived there was a line which gave me time to figure out what I wanted. I ordered the uno combo with Turkey Tips with Mild Sauce, Smoked Mac Cheese and Fries. The Turkey Tips were okay I felt like it wasn't a lot of meat. The Smoked Mac Cheese was overally smokey and you couldn't taste the Mac Cheese. The Fries were fine with the sauce on them Overall, it was an okay experience, the food was okay and the price range is average. It's not somewhere I would drive to just for Barbecue.

My first time there, the employees were very nice and friendly and helpful. I wasn't impressed by the quality of their tips that I ordered. I had a lot of bones and no meat. Fries were scarce. Everyone's experience is their own. Good luck.

The owners: mother and daughter are an incomparable pair! The love and passion they have for food is one of a kind. I'm glad to have met them and I rave to everyone about their food.
