What Mackenzie Chiles doesn't like about The Strand Waterfront Dining Wine:
Update 10/18: Management was quick to contact and make our situation right. It was made clear our experience was not up to their standards. Food and ambience left us wanting more. Ordered porterhouse steak and pheasant cordon blue. Both came out dry and generally lacking flavor. Steak was ordered medium rare, came out medium well. The server offered to replace it, but we didn’t have time to wait for another. No other... View all feedback.
We have tried all the restaurants in lutsen and have always great food and service here. save yourself and stay away from the tourist traps and terrible eating and service on the skihill.
Local Ingredients Unique Northwoods Experience!. A wonderful dinning experience and an amazing use of local ingredients including fish, berries, flowers, wild rice, mushrooms, and cheeses. A must stop on your way up the shore!! If you're smart you'll book a room for the weekend and get the full Lutsen Resort experience.
My husband and I recently had a fantastic dining experience at The Strand. We were warmly welcomed and seated by Fabian, and received excellent service from Diana throughout the evening. Meeting the chef, Jennifer, was a highlight as the meal she prepared was delicious. We started with the walleye cakes, shared the smoked goose chowder and caesar salad, my husband enjoyed the birch braised short rib, and I loved the pheasant cordon bleu. The drink menu was impressive, offering both non-alcoholic options and delicious mezcal drinks, a pleasant surprise in Northern Minnesota. Overall, it was a wonderful evening and the service team truly went above and beyond to make our dinner special. We highly recommend the Pheasant, Goose Chowder, and Walleye Cakes. I absolutely adored this restaurant! Although it was a little expensive, it is to be expected for a high-end dining experience. Every aspect of the meal was exceptional. The service was top-notch, the meal was delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. Would highly recommend for a special dinner out.
I had never been to such a fantastic lunch spot before. The food was incredibly delicious and it truly made my day. I give it a perfect five out of five rating. You must visit this restaurant and try their delectable dishes.
