Although you might initially hesitate about whether to wait for a host or seat yourself, you are quickly encouraged to pick your own spot. The service is exceptionally friendly and efficient; in fact, one of the servers, Owner Helen, impressively remembers large orders without needing any notes. The food arrives hot and delicious, with the proteins being juicy and flavorful. So far, everything has been going wonderfully. Then, your sushi entrée arrives. In my opinion, the sushi at Blue Water is the best in Western Massachusetts. It’s inventive, well-balanced, and truly showcases the skill of the owner, Leo. Each roll is like a work of art. If you’re a fan of spicy food, you must try the “Dynamite Roll,” where you can witness the chef artfully drizzling the spicy sauce and salmon over the roll. For eel lovers, I highly recommend the “Black Rose Roll,” or for something off the menu, ask for the Unagi King—my personal favorite. I’ve sampled every roll on the menu, and on a quiet day, I even asked Leo to surprise me with something entirely new. This resulted in a delightful special of the month a while back: the Mount Tom Roll, aptly named for being an incredible treat. The rice quality here is impeccable; it’s never too sticky or dense, with just the right amount of bite, thanks to Chef Leo's meticulous care in its preparation. The rolls are consistently excellent, with Leo maintaining a high standard of quality that rarely wavers. When I order the gorgeous Ocean Breeze Roll, it arrives exactly as it should every single time. I never have to worry that what I receive won't be as good as before. Chef Leo ensures that all his chefs strive for the same level of excellence. Regardless of the weather or your mood, the friendly staff here genuinely aims to please and is dedicated to providing you with a fantastic dining experience. They clearly value your patronage, and after a meal, you’ll want to keep coming back. The food is not only delicious but also affordably priced. You’ll leave feeling satisfied and probably with a new favorite sushi spot. I've been a loyal customer since their opening and have never written a review until now. My partner, Andy, and I look forward to enjoying their hospitality for many years to come. We’ve always felt welcome here, and the food remains unmatched in Western Massachusetts. Although it's a small venue, it’s charming and offers a great selection of fish, and they are more than willing to accommodate custom orders. Overall, it’s a fantastic place that excels in both service and food.

I have a new favorite sushi place and I don't have to travel all the way to Sturbridge or Northampton anymore since this was even better in my opinion. This place was very clean and the service was fabulous. The food was absolutely amazing to both see and eat. My favorite was the Phoenix Roll but it was all delicious and fresh. When the owner found out it was our first time there, she thanked us for trying it and was so friendly getting to know us a little. I will definitely come back and bring my friends. Thank you for a great anniversary dinner.
