Manhattan Deli

The Grand Central Burger is one of the best, if not the best burger I've had in town. The caramelized onions add a great taste and the cheese is melted perfectly. The burger is so good I could drink it! The old location in the alley was too small, with long lines and sometimes a long wait, but in the end it's worth it. I have not been to the new location yet.

My two friends ordered the Grand Central Burger and two chili dogs and got their food in five minutes. I ordered a Bronx Burger immediately after them and I had to wait 15 minutes! I asked why and the guy said it was because different teams (hot/cold) were working on the orders. On top of the 15 minute wait, the sandwich was cold.

I ordered a Manhattan Cordon Bleu and it was the best sandwich I have put in my mouth in a long time. The service was prompt. I would definitely recommend Manhattan Grill to someone looking for lunch in the downtown area.

I work downtown and we order from Manhattan Deli/Grille/whatever quite a bit. We usually order at least an hour in advance even though they are only about 4 blocks over because our lunch time is rigid and we can't be late. One of my friends places an order for a burger and we had to call back and add a sandwich to the order a minute later. They delivered the 2 items an hour apart and the first order was delivered last. When my friend ate his burger, there was some strange white stuff on his food, but he thought it was salt. Turns out it was not. My friend got so sick he had to go to the emergency room. The staff told him that it appeared he had a large dose of laxatives in his system. Needless to say, we have not ordered from there since. AWFUL!

It doesn 't matter if you dine -in or have food/drink delivered. It’s always served in a timely matter and really delicious. Especially the fish! The Manhattan deli staff are always friendly and very professional. Even if you only order yogurt, they make you feel like a friend instead of a customer. I discovered it last April '05 but now try to get there a few times a month. The decor is really dressed up in a nice New York style. I’m happy that I can walk from my work to the Manhattan Deli!
