El Perico - Louisburg

We hit up El Perico on a Saturday evening. Its located in a strip mall along with a Food Lion and other establishments. There was plenty of parking. There 's handicapped parking and easy accessible to the restaurant. The place is decorated nicely. It blends American and Mexican themes quite nicely. We got seated right away. Not soon after we placed our drink requests and received a basket of well prepared chips and a carafe of salsa. The salsa was a little hot. Close to being too much for wife who isn 't into a lot of heat. For me, it was just a little heat but not so hot the other flavors disappeared. For starters we got the cheese dip. It had great flavor and was nice and creamy. The wife got a Margarito and I went with a sweet tea. She enjoyed the 'Rita. For dinner, I went with the 4 burrito combo. It came with 1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 bean and 1 cheese burrito. All were topped with sauce and cheese. The price was reasonable. There was no rice or beans with it. Just burritos. The beef burrito was super. The chicken was a little dry. The cheese burrito leaked its innards out onto the plate. Even with the chicken being a little dry and the leaky cheese, the flavors were on point. The wife got a fried seafood chimichanga. Hers came with beans. Fortunately for me, she doesn 't like beans. The beans here are fantastic. The staff was friendly. The prices are reasonsble. We rolled out of there as stuffed as our tortilla shells were. Great place. Will totally go back.

Great place to eat with friends/family, attentive staff and delicious food. 10/10 definitely recommend

We love this place! Delicious food, great prices, and friendly staff. We go almost every Friday night. Haven’t had anything I didn’t love. We moved from San Diego so we’re pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food, and this is our favorite place! Highly recommend!

I don't usually go to a Mexican restaurant, but when I do, it's El Perico. Why? Because it's very good. The service is fast and ontop of things. They've never messed up an order. Not to mention it's one of 4 restaurants that are worth going to in Louisburg. The other 3 I'm not going to mention, but you know who you are. My top choice is the Chori Pollo Fatitas. The chicken is nicely seasoned, onions are cooked, and the pineapples are a great choice. The meal comes ripping hot on a skillet. It's a large meal so don't fight the urge to eat it all... You can take it home for 2nd ground. The salsa delivered before the meal with the chips are both good. The only thing that I've had that I haven't been impressed with is their guacamole. It's rather boring in flavor and needs some life breathed into it.
