Ackee Bamboo - Los Angeles

I took my Jamaican friend there for her birthday. The food was excellent just like my roommate makes it! It was my first time and I came an hour and 45min. from out of town. I was not disappointed with the service, the taste of the oxtail, calaloo w/ plantains, festival bread, rice beans was on point! A large portion was what a large should be! I washed it down with the the guava, pineapple drink, (wish I had bought 2! It was packed out on a Thursday at 2pm. Because I can't get this type of food in my city I ordered jerk chicken to take home with me that also was delicious!

I love this place. It is close, the food is good and I love the music. It would be nice if the staff at the register smiled and was more gracious, but I get it. I have never had a very gregarious cashier at Jamaican restaurant LOL.

Bomb every time I come. I drive all the way from Palm Springs to eat the Oxtails and Curry Chicken..

I am originally from Miami. And when I'm craving Caribbean food, I come here, no matter how far I am from the location. Never disappointed and ALWAYS satisfied.
