Bought pies and pasties to take home. Really friendly lady who served us and told us that many people who have holiday homes in Lorne come and buy them to take home. Delicious pepper pie and equally delicious pastie. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Grandma Shields Bakery:
I apologize for the lack of effort in asking reasonable questions and the take-it-or-leave-it mentality at this restaurant. I recommend considering another dining option. View all feedback.
As far as small town bakeries go, this is a good one They tell me everything is made on the premises.
The pies, pasties and rolls on sale are of excellent quality. Extremely tasty and apparently award winning. We were served by friendly staff.

We wanted a light lunch to eat outdoors and watch the beach. This bakery has it all with delicious chunky beef pies, beautiful sandwiches which they toast if requested, vanilla slices to die for (and my wife can be very critical of second-rate vanilla slices), and superb coffee. We ate outside the bakery at tables sheltered from the sun by umbrellas. We enjoyed our lunch so much, I am trying to persuade my wife to skip some expensive Lorne restaurant meals and eat more meals at Grandma Shields Bakery.
On a stop on our Trafalgar tour, my wife and I stopped at this little restaurant for a morning break. They were somewhat disorganized at their service counter, mixing up a few orders, including mine. Eventually we were able to enjoy our coffees, with a delicious beef pie, on their outside patio. Food was good, service not so good.
