The restaurant is from the wine estate Laquai, seamingly making a good mix of great tasting local foods and superb wines. I've been told that the grapes get sun all year round..... I think I can taste it.... Make a food order with at least Bratkartoffeln in it. The way they make them here is truly delicious... If you like the wine. Just get a bottle (or two). We were on a walking holiday, staying in Lorch and had this place recommended. They make their own wine from their vinyard behind the restaurant (there was a large still in the room where we ate) Good traditional food well cooked with fabulous wine. Well worth a visit.
If you fancy being shouted at by a stern German woman, this is the place for you. Can’t fault the wine but the welcome left a lot to be desired...
Now this is what you should be looking for when visiting the Rhine area. Honest foodof finest quality combined with perfect wines in an nostalgic ambiance at a price you could only dream about. No question: this restaurant deserves a bib. But potentially they dont even know what that is..... Go for it!

We were recommended by our landlady to eat here, we went down for a beer first to have a look, it is situated overlooking the river, we were made welcome to sit out side in the afternoon sun, the place was quite busy with lots of different people dropping in to eat and drink we noticed at lot of locals were there which is always a good thing, the restaurant is also biker friendly.we asked about coming back later to eat and were more or less informed they had already reserved us a table of 6 for 730 the landlord had a great sense of hummer so we said we would be there for 8, We turned up just before 8 to find a coach load just being seated, he came over seated us at our table gave us German and English menus to choose from (they are the same meals just look different when written) we joked over the coach party with him ordered our drinks a few minutes later we ordered our meals which didn't take that long really to come out, we would definitely recommend the onion soup with cognac, we all commented on it never had anything like it before and so far haven't had anything like it since, we all chose more or less different main meals and all our meals were homemade, flavour some and plenty full, after we finished our meals we asked if we could stay for a few beers out side as it appeared to us they were closing, we were invited to an outside table and informed as long as we wanted to sit and drink they would serve us, as we were riding the next day we didn't stay late but we really were made to feel welcome. we would not hesitate to recommend stopping here to either eat, drink or just sit at a table with a coffee chilling out and talking with friends, the river as a back drop is just so relaxing and inviting.
