Mike O'shays Ale House - Longmont

Beautiful pub atmosphere. very friendly waiter. Potato skins was good. I had fish and chips that were freshly hot and delicious. my wife had montreal steak that they really enjoyed. I would only suggest getting rid of the carpet in the upper areas.

They have a great seafood soup. the server are nice and they will help them in any way when they eat steak I heard that their ribeye was good. I didn't try it myself, I don't eat a steak.

I'd like to think I'm somewhat a regular, I love the fish chips, prime rib, beer selection, and service; Jen is the best. I've had several great experiences with the service and food and this review is a one time rating. I sat at the bar waited a good 28 minutes to tab out from a $15 meal, I asked first and waited 15 minutes before the dude to my right asked, tabbed out, and left. Chowder was lukewarm at best and the service in general wasn't very quick and sociable. The bartender the afternoon of 4/7 wasn't great, perhaps this person was in training.

Admittedly a very busy night. They were understaffed and under prepared. We should have left after it took more than an hour to get our soup. But we were looking forward to their yummy fries. French onion soup was one huge piece of bread, partially rock hard, and then barely any broth or onion pieces. We all got some because it is our favorite, and some of us had no broth beyond what made the bread soggy. Again, should have returned the food but didn't. Fries came out, and they have changed brands types of fries, so now they are just boring old regular fries instead of the tasty ones they used to have. None of the rest of the food they serve is worthwhile enough to make the effort and pay the price because you can find those same foods at the same quality at lesser prices elsewhere. Probably not going back.

Just had an extremely disappointing experience. Went late on the afternoon of 2022-04-26. I followed two people through the door, and the staff recognized them and said, your table is ready Very friendly, I thought. I sat down at the bar. No one approached me. An individual came behind the bar and made what looked like a couple of interesting drinks, but she didn't say anything to me, didn't make eye contact, didn't have any interest in me as a customer at all. She finished making those drinks and departed from behind the bar. As an aside, about 5 minutes later I heard her talking to staff as she was leaving, so I guess I didn't rate because she was at the end of her shift.A few minutes later, another individual arrived and finally noticed me. Took my order for food and drink. I ordered a wedge salad and the BLAT sandwich. The salad was fine, but the sandwich arrived too quickly bad pacing from the staff. However, I can deal with food arriving a bit too quickly, but the croissant for the sandwich was stale. Clearly it was bread that too old be served one could tell just from just touching it, so it is not possible the cook who assembled it wouldn't know.I would have said something, but the person only came back behind the bar after I had finished the fries, and at that point I was not interested in trying to remedy the situation.I have had decent service in the past (though, to be fair, the time prior to this a customer sat at the bar and threatened to kill people, so while not the fault of the restaurant, but does start to make one wonder), but this time neither the service nor the food was of a minimally acceptable quality.I hope this experience as an aberration, but it certainly makes me less likely to choose Mike O'Shays over other establishments.And it is too bad the peach margarita was pretty good!
