I have been bringing my nieces here for the last 12 years and we always receive warm and friendly service from Gerri and Sonia. All of the sweets and savories are freshly prepared on-site and are delicious. The service is on real china and silver, and there is an assortment of tea hats to choose from. The ambiance is lovely with classical music playing softly in the background, and the rooms are beautifully decorated... View all feedback.
What MelissaH doesn't like about High Tea With Gerri:
Enjoyed the ambiance of the place but the food was just average. Would have liked to have a choice of tea and tea pots at the table so we didn't have to keep asking for more tea. Does not compete will the high teas available in downtown Chicago. View all feedback.
Worst high tea ever experienced. Nothing was explained. Seemed to be run by high school kids. Six overcrowded chairs at a table that should have been set for two. Never greeted when we came in, just told where to sit.
I had called and scheduled a party of 4 for our Mother's 99th birthday. I clearly told them when I made the reservation that it was for her 99th birthday. There was one other table of 6 also celebrating a birthday. There were no other people in the restaurant. The waitress brought out all of our food at one time. It was a small table and no room to move anything. The soup was delicious. The scones were very good. The sandwiches were pretty standard. All of the desserts were exceptionally sweet! The other table was served their soup and scones. When they were done with that course they were served the sandwiches. When they were done with their sandwiches they were then served the dessert course. And a tiny piece of cake was brought out to the birthday person at that table. The waitress did check back with us several times to see if we needed anything. No birthday cake was brought out to our mother. I did ask why she did not receive a piece of cake. The waitress brought out a piece of cake that was big enough to hold the candle. (I do believe the other person got the same size. But we were definitely treated like second class patrons. All of our food was dumped on the table. which was so disappointing for such a special occasion. We were all very disappointed!! Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair or handicap accessibility.

It was just ok. Only one tea was offered no choice in the food served.
Absolutely loved the scones and sandwiches we ordered for our Tea Party Baby shower! They went above and beyond to get our large order on short notice , and in time for our event : . Would definitely go here for High Tea or order large takeout events again. Thank you!
