The food at this restaurant is exceptional. The Mexican rice tastes homemade, as if a skilled cook is working in the kitchen, although I didn't see her. The music and service are also fantastic. View all feedback.
What Damian Favela doesn't like about La Chancla Mexican Grill:
The food could use more seasoning and the parking lot is a bit cramped. The restaurant is located in a shopping center. I ordered the asada tacos but they lacked flavor. View all feedback.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! The staff was extremely helpful, the menu had plenty of options to choose from, and the freshly made tortillas were absolutely delicious. We ordered the fish (full of flavor), birria (juicy), shrimp (crispy and delicious), and chicken tinga (perfectly cooked). The tacos were a good size, generously filled, flavorful, and tasted very fresh. We dined outside and had a wonderful experience. We will definitely be returning!
Do not overlook this restaurant. It is located in Long Beach off Cherry Ave, in a small plaza with ample parking. It may be tucked away in a corner, but its vibrant colors make it impossible to miss. The service is fantastic, clearly run by a welcoming family. When I asked how they were, they responded with "Living the Dream," which was a beautiful answer. The food is incredible and a must-try. I couldn't resist sampling a bit of everything, but the tacos were my main focus. Made with handmade tortillas and juicy, flavorful meats, I opted for the combo with three tacos. The menu offers a variety of meat options, including carnitas, asada, chicken, and even Soyrizo. I also ordered Agua Fresca, Loaded Fries, chips, and Guacamole. Everything was hot and delicious, and I was thoroughly impressed. This restaurant is an authentic gem, and I can't wait to return for more. See you soon!
The food was amazing. The tinga tacos are outstanding, definitely try them. They suggest the queso birria tacos, but those were not my favorite as they were too heavy on the cheese for my liking. Stick to the tinga tacos when you come here.
I was initially drawn to this restaurant by its name, but it was the exceptional service and high-quality food that kept me coming back. From the moment my colleagues and I arrived, we were warmly greeted and assisted. Isabella, our server, made sure my dining experience was seamless by recommending delicious items from the menu. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the kitchen, where all staff wore masks and gloves, and by the fact that everything was made in-house, from the sauces to the tortillas. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in every bite. The flavors were well-balanced, and the high-quality meat practically melted in my mouth. The prices were very reasonable, and I was able to enjoy a large burrito and a drink with light ice for just $13.50. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a satisfying meal. Don't wait any longer to give it a try!
