Located in Brixton, Khamsa is a charming restaurant serving authentic Algerian cuisine in a cozy family-run atmosphere. While some customers note that the staff could be more polite, many praise the fresh and tasty food. The menu, expertly curated by a husband and wife duo, offers a home-style approach to catering with cold starters and hot mains that highlight the natural flavors of quality ingredients. The star of the show is the legendary bread, which melts chilly foods into bliss. Customers rave about the warm hospitality of the owner and recommend trying dishes like Tchakhoukha and Rechta. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience that transports guests to Algeria through its decor, music, and delicious food. With hearty portions and affordable prices, Khamsa is a must-visit for those looking to explore traditional Algerian cuisine in London.

The owner is a very nice person with bright ideas and encouraging personality. We had a chat with him about Algerian and Amazigh culture and he is a lovely person. I had a taste of salad platter and the food was amazing. After that I tried the milk dessert which is very similar to Sutlach, but it was tastier than the Turkish one. The design of the restaurant also looks very traditional and it pulls you in. I would love to go again!

We visited this restaurant this evening and wow, we were not disappointed! I am of distant North African heritage and can honestly say this is the best Tagine I have ever eaten in London. The Chef is clearly passionate and proud of his food.Every mouthful of food was a pleasure! The only negative is we don’t live close by, if we did, I think we’d eat here every day! A highly recommended restaurant! Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again, hopefully in a few months time, we will bring friends …..

What a wonderful place. Food smelt and tasted wonderful…just enough spice to make it tasty and warm but not hot. We had a group so sat downstairs which is a great space. The chef brought the food and was around to chat. Went because it was a friend’s local…we are planning to go back on a work do as so reasonable and such a nice evening had. Highly recommend!
