Hands down the best secret of China Town, Sunnbank!! Food is traditional, authentic and absolutely delicious. Prices are insanely affordable and service is fast and professional! All food is fresh, perfectly cooked and fragrant. There is a reason why is it tucked away and quite frankly, it is still buzzing because nothing advertises better than through word of mouth. Service is alright. Sometimes you need to keep calling them for a service unless its breakfast where you go to the counter. Some food is tasty but some is just alright. I do like the breakfast set. View all feedback.

I have visited here before as I love congee, but this time I left unimpressed.SERVICETook 5 minutes for a young Asian man to walk over to me. With disinterest lead me to the breakfast counter. The lady at the cashier understood little English. But took my order with help from a younger staff member.I was told to have fresh prawn added it would cost $2 more at $18.95 I was not told to take a number, so I had to ask which number should I take?FAILED SERVICE TESTFOOD Seafood Congee meal pictured had the promise of good presentation.Congee was of good consistency and the white fish delicious.I received two prawns for my extra $2.As I ate one of the "fresh prawns" I realised too late it was OFF. Yuk!Spat the rotten prawn out and that was the end of my meal.Noodles pictured had soy poured on top, but the sauce was tasteless. The pork was dry, but broken up in the congee was fine.FOOD QUALITY - FAIL Should have saved myself $2 for rotten prawns which spoilt the congee and upset my stomach.OVERALL IMPRESSION My last visit over a year now was much better. Maybe this business has changed hands, management or lost interest?Last time I was here the room was packed, today only half a dozen tables occupied.Need I say any more?
Great variety on the menu and the food is good and definitely great value too. The decor is a bit ordinary but its not really a fine dining joint so can't complain. The service however can be a bit patchy sometimes. We are not cantonese or mandarin speaking people so if the staff member attending to you doesn't speak good english, it can't be a bit daunting if you want to make slight modifications to your order.
I couldn't wait to write this review, such was our experience. I've been a few times previously, but tonight was a real standout. The food has always been consistently delicious, but tonight we were served by the restaurant owner (Liam?) and it really made our night. I travel almost weekly for work, and I don't recall the last time I encountered such genuine and friendly service. I'd already returned for the food (the pork ribs and ho fan are amazing) but I'll definitely be back for the service!!
