Loved the atmosphere and food. They have a dedicated gluten free fryer and knowledgeable wait staff. I have celiac and feel thankful for a safe and yummy restaurant in Montana. The fries and real jalapeño ranch were a blessing as I don’t ever get to eat those things out and about. My kids enjoyed the decor as well. View all feedback.
What Caitlyn Jelley Draper doesn't like about Neptune's Taphouse And Eatery:
Walked in for lunch, party of 4 at 12:20pm not busy, sat instantly. Ordered drinks, which came quickly then ordered our lunch. Sat for an hour, watched every table and people sitting at the bar whom came in after us get their food before us. Our waitress never told us our food was coming out/maybe they accidentally skipped out ticket, no info from her. Finally we had to ask for our drink check bc it was 2:30pm and we... Cabbage in coleslaw was limp and not fresh. Dressing had no flavor. Cod pieces fairly small. Fries good. Told waitress no action offered. Fun atmosphere.
For me, this is a go to spot in Livingston for dinner and drinks after a day on the Yellowstone River. Good service and tasty sushi plus much more.
We live in Bozeman and put our name on the waitlist as we left and headed over the pass(where there is no phone reception) and looked forward to a wonderful meal that we knew in advance having eaten here several times before. When we arrived the staff informed us that they had given away our table because we didn’t answer their texts to us if we were still coming. We were both surprised how rude and uncaring the staff reacted to us when we showed our disappointment at the situation. They stuck us at a table in their outside dining area which was quite empty considering it was chilly and windy. I made a comment to the waitress that We didn’t appreciate the way we were being treated in such a freaky way. The waitress thought I was calling her a freak and got very ugly. After all of this we decided to leave. It was clearly not a good situation from beginning to end! Just ridiculous! Won’t be going back!
Called ahead at around 7pm as we were about 45 minutes outside of town. Staff ensured us we didn’t need a reservation and they were open until 9pm. I even checked the website to see wait times and it said “no wait, come on in!” When we arrived at 745pm, the hostess could not seat our party of 5 even though there was atleast 3 empty tables inside and several outside. I understand restaurants have struggled with staffing however not being ableTo accommodate a party of 5 who called ahead and was assured there was no need is a bit ridiculous. I’ve been going regularly to Neptunes whenever we pass through Livingston the past several years and the service and quality has diminished significantly. I most likely won’t be back and can not in good faith recommend this to others.
The sushi salad was delicious and quite large (although a moderate amount of fish)
