What Will Rivera doesn't like about Argyle Marketplace Creative Catering Cafe:
From the moment I walked in I felt like I was already being scoped out as a potential ?thief?, which was absolutely ridiculous. The man, who I assume must be the owner, treated me indifferently as if he was suspicious I was trying to steal a water when Iasked how much a bag of cookies cost. Guy is definitely racist. The deli sandwiches are absolutely delicious. The Jersey Joe is one of the best sloppy joes I’ve ever had. It’s far superior to those from other delis in Essex County that claim to serve the best sloppy joes. Their other subs are also incredibly tasty.
I felt very uneasy when I had to place my order from outside the restaurant, which I understand is a necessary precaution given the rise in Covid cases. I asked the woman taking my order if she could come out to collect my card, but she insisted, "No, I need your card number." Being pregnant and starving, I reluctantly complied. However, she kept requesting more and more information just for me to get a breakfast sandwich. The only thing they didn't ask for was my Social Security number! Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and took my card inside, which eased my concerns about the transaction. The sandwich itself was pleasant, but I was left feeling uncomfortable about the security measures and the unwillingness to come outside for my card when I requested it.
I felt quite uneasy having to order from outside, though I understand the need for safety measures due to the rise in COVID cases. When I requested the woman taking my order to come and retrieve my card, she responded with, “No. I need your card number.” Being pregnant and incredibly hungry, I reluctantly complied, but she kept asking for more information just to process my request for a breakfast sandwich. The only detail they didn't ask for was my Social Security Number! Fortunately, another staff member came out, took my card inside, and managed to ease my worries about the transaction. The sandwich itself was good, but I didn't feel comfortable with the lack of willingness to accommodate my request for card collection due to security concerns.

The food is delightful, made with fresh ingredients, and the staff is incredibly friendly. We work nearby and really enjoy visiting for a meal.
