The food at Restaurante Bom Bom is average and unremarkable. The restaurant ambience is that of a diner. The service was prompt and attentive, though the overall dining experience was disappointing.
On way to supermarket in Lisbon, came across a hidden gem. Seems locals go there. Service was great. Waiter spoke English and was really pleasant. Food service was quick and food was tasty! Beer was cold and cheap! What more can you ask for.
Staying at the Sana Capitol near Pombal square 6 yrs. ago, I went out looking for the necessities. Found a mini Precio across the street from this restaurant. Prices very reasonable so we ate and had a nice steak. Went back today and found it again. $8 for a steak with mushrooms and sauce. 1/2 liter of wine $2.50, great tuna steak. Whole meal $23 with coffee and flan. If you are up on the square, you know one meal could cost this and we have enough leftovers for another meal. A place the natives eat at.
Nice and cheap. Very traditional place, with nice service, and several dishes ready to serve (fish or meal).
Located in the Old downtown Lisbon, this is one of the few restaurants that doesn't have a hawker in the street trying to attract customers. And for good cause, this simple but good restaurant is largely frequented by locals and has very good food at reasonable prices. The fish was excellent as was the service. Highly recommended.
