Once we arrive to Panarea Island we got recommended to go to this restaurant. What a great advice! It was simple delicious. Even though the restaurant itself is very simple and has just a terrace looking their food is the most valuable of this place! Pasta norma, spaghetti alle bongole or with frutti di mare were great as much as their grilled swordfish. The best of their meals was dessert: a very unique Eggplant pie... View all feedback.
What TheCannyJudge doesn't like about Ristorante Bar Da L'eoliano:
The worst food we’ve had this entire trip.. 51 euro gone on two terrible pasta dishes and caponata that wasn’t made yesterday, and possibly not this week. We always look for a restaurant that’s husy. This one was busy, but I now see that was because there are so few to choose from and its pricing seemed good compared with others in this pricey town. How I wish we’d bought sandwiches instead. We had a lovely dinner to this charming and original restaurant. We had a skorpio fish that was amazing and not expensive. The price was communicated properly before. These are honest people. I lost my wallet in the restaurant and the owner fetched it back without anything missing. Chapeau!
A fantastic meal, with the highlight being a beautifully cooked Scorpion Fish (only available for 3 months of the year) by the owner himself. Waiting staff were attentive, and the house white wine was fantastic at €6 per 1/2 litre! Out of this world Caponata, and an incredible smoked tuna and swordfish starter. The tiramisu was phenomenal as well, and they even capped it off with a complimentary carafe of wine. Would strongly recommend for a beautiful, local home cooked meal at a family run restaurant. This place was fantastic value and quality compared to some of the tourist traps on the island!
We asked for the fish of the day and the waiter showed us 3 fishes on a plate, saying 2 were priced 20-25€ and one priced 18€. We took one of the bigger fishes and the waiter charged us 36€ for that ! He justified himself by saying that 20-25€ was in fact the price per person but that, in his goodness, he gave us a discount ! In total we payed 60€ for 1 fish, 2 small side dishes, 2 small desserts and one bottle of water, which is clearly overpriced.
