Hopfen Abe's is a restaurant that my non-vegan family members enjoy frequenting. I am always happy to join them knowing that I can find a delicious salad that satisfies me. What User doesn't like about Honest Abe's Downtown:
The restaurant needs to offer a vegan option for their burgers and patties. Most of their menu items are not vegan, including the toppings. I encountered an issue where my burger had bacon on it, which I was not aware of. The staff seem to be unsure about what items are vegan. Happy they offer a tasty vegan patty bun. I actually like their patty a lot and the fries are good too! I really wish they had more vegan toppings or a burger that was all vegan toppings/bun so you don’t have to modify every time.
They have a vegan patty, but it’s not great. It’s clear they just threw in a veggie patty on the menu.
The vegan patty they have is ok, but it’s not that great. No toppings are vegan friendly except for lettuce, ketchup, and onions. You have to sub for a vegan bun too so it all adds up to a burger that you can make at home that would taste better and is way cheaper. I appreciate that they do have a vegan patty, but they have a lot of work to do in order to be truly vegan friendly.

Honest Abe 's is a place my (near vegan eat family members often. I'm happy day together with the knowledge, I can get a salad that I'm really happy with. The vegan patty makes the salad so rich and tasteful, and the vegan sweet apple dressing adds a beautiful depth of taste to the crispy salad base as well. Other toppings (coloured red onions, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, sunflower seeds, chopped hazelnuts etc. vary depending on location. It's a decent salad, and I never feel like I'm missing, despite the constant teasing of my family members. Abraham Lincoln said famous: Those who seek evil will find it safe. I'm looking for the GOOD [vegan food] and I'm sure I can find it here!
