We stopped in here for lunch today. This is a small restaurant and everyone is dining close to the person next to him/her. This is a very local restaurant with only people from Lier. I think we were the only English speaking people there. They have an English menu and our waitress spoke English. I chose a wild meats dish from the menu and my wife had the stoofvleef from the menu. Our food came around 15 minutes later and it was hot and looked great. We sampled both dishes and the taste was excellent. The meats were cooked well and you could cut it with a fork. I believe I had lingonberries on top of my dish and that added a tart, fruity taste to the dish. We paired our dishes with a glass of the house white wine. Overall, this was a great lunch that scored five stars in our opinions.
Very nice brasserie by the riverside. Cozy, green, chill terrace right near the centre of town.
We really liked this cafe. The service was very pleasant and friendly they made our kids a pancake before the designated National Pancake Window of 14:00 18:00 that the country seems to abide by. First time trying bitterballen , which are basically fried balls of beef stew, and quite good. I had Grimbeergen blond then bruin, on draft. In a nice side street just off of the Zimmerplein.
We visited here in December and it was great. Beautifull interiour and nice people. We ordered a starter+main course and it was too much! Nevertheless really good honest food.
Perfect at any point of view. We were served in French without asking.
