I've been to the original Grimaldi in Brooklyn years ago. I was so excited when I heard they opened a location in Lexington! Our pizza and service were excellent. We originally wanted to make half a bigger pizza, because my husband likes a lot of meat on his pizza. Our server advised us that with the number of toppings we ordered it would be cheaper to get two smaller pizzas, and we really appreciate this tip! We'll... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Grimaldi's Pizzeria:
Have been here like more that 40 times... The sauce has definitely changed to the more bland side. I thought it was because I got a calzone last time. But the pizza this time is not the same... so at least 45 days or in area. Haven't come for a while before that so maybe before. Not the same. That much I know. View all feedback.

We had the Don Pizza and everyone ordered a small salad. The food was wonderful! Small salad feeds easily two people! Cheese on pizza was strict like the old pizza days of my youth! The service was great and the price was reasonable... although adding bacon to 16 inch pizza was $4, a little steep. Will definitely come back!
Nice antipasta. Good pizza. True coal fired oven prepared fresh. A bit on the high side for pizza but it's prepared well.
Pros: The pizza tasted fresh, from the cheese to the crust. Good portions as well. The server, had a great attitude but it seemed she was the only one on the floor for a full restaurant; while needs were met, it couldn't be timely no matter how hard she tried. The atmosphere is neat enough to distract you and distort time a bit though, so not a huge issue! Cons: With the kitchen being open, and being able to watch them make the pizzas, it's concerning to watch employees glove up, answer the phone (both corded and their cell phones) then continue handling the food without washing their hands or changing into clean gloves. Same employee had her hair down with no restraints( no net or hair tie) surely she's just trying to help... but... no one wants to see this and expect hair I their meal.
I felt I was here in New York, although I was in Lexington, Kentucky. Great pizza, just like the original.
