Date Night in Middletown?! We're not sorry. The Hubbs started with his usual Cesar while I tried the Burrata. The aromas were delicious. This is legit in my top 2 amazing and unique salads. Always. And I love a good salad. Between the courses we received a champagne and Sorbet Gaumenreiniger. Trés chic. I haven't served a palate cleaner since the late 1980s. This is a Posh trend that needs to make a comeback. The Hub... View all feedback.
What Mack Hand doesn't like about Columbia Steakhouse:
I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. I appreciated the extra touches like a palate cleanser between courses and the unique Italian bottled water. The cocktails, mushroom soup, and tagliatelle dish were particularly enjoyable. I went to this restaurant for dinner during the week. I started with a Caesar salad that was served with bread and oil/balsamic dip. The salad was delicious, as was the bread. The server explained all the menu options to us. I decided to go for the NY Strip Steak, which was seasoned with just salt. It was simple but good, although I usually prefer something more flavorful. However, the real standout dish was the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. It was absolutely amazing. I would recommend sharing the steak and pasta between two people, but I wanted to try a few different dishes on my first visit. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
We had a great time at Primo. We enjoyed a traditional Italian meal with multiple courses. We shared a Caesar salad and lasagna, and each of us had duck. I had the branzino and my husband had the chicken piccata with a side of pasta. We ended the meal with Gelato and Sorbet. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend the lasagna. The restaurant had only been open for a little over a month, so be patient with the staff and enjoy a leisurely dining experience. Dave and Dory provided excellent service. The managers and owners were also present. We look forward to returning in the future!

The pasta was perfectly prepared and the Bolognese was fleshy and tasteful. We plan to come back when the stain of glass is open next door and do a little antiquing. Definitely fine food. Fantastic.

The rumor mill said there was an elegant new restaurant in Middletown, yes Middletown, and the food being served was authentic Italian. Primo Italian Steakhouse, opened in mid-February and is operating on a reduced schedule as it gets everything organized. Frank the GM said Sunday Bunch will start April 2 and Primo will expand to six nights a week in early May. I said elegant, sub in beautiful or stunning if you were in the restaurant’s predecessor. Primo is a modern design featuring gorgeous crystal chandeliers, marble table tops and the most comfortable chairs. Primo is the brainchild of Nelson Castillo, the owner of Prime Cincinnati and Street City Urban Gourmet. With a menu designed by his longtime chef Shawn Heine the two have really gone all out for Primo. I sampled seven dishes starting out with the Beef Carpaccio and their Charcuterie Board. Both were right on point and I paid them with the Primotini, their featured cocktail. For the pasta course I tore through the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese. Handmade with ALL ingredients from Italy, the sauce complements the pasta not overwhelms it. Primo provides a palate cleaner of Prosecco and sorbet before entrees. I tried the Branzino africano. crispy skin and the filet was so tender underneath. I Could go on and on but suffice it to say. Treat yourself and make a journey there you won’t be disappointed. So satisfying!
