Food is really god compared to all other places on the slope. Really friendly staff and make you feel at home. If the sun shines, perfect terras as well

We've been travelling to Saalbach for several years and every single year, without fail, the highlight of our week is Hecherhutte day. This great little mountain restaurant is accessed by road from the village of Viehofen, or on snow from the top of the Polten 6-er. The run is often closed so caution is advised. Jamilla runs a great operation. All the staff are efficient and courteous. The food is excellent and the drinks are very reasonably priced. My main recommendation for this restaurant is to NOT LEAVE. We tend to head there for about 1pm and eat between 2 and 3pm. As the afternoon draws on a great party atmosphere develops led by Lucky Luke, a Hecherhutte institution. Every year see's a different dance routine and everyone in there all gets involved. If you're worried about heading home, don't, Jamilla organises taxis for everyone to get them back to where they need to be. If you're not up for the party or the taxi at the end, you can carry on down the road to Viehofen and take local public transport to get you back to where you need to be. The Hecherhutte is an absolute gem, 5 stars, 100% would recommend

Fantastic last night to our holidays. Great welcome treated as old friends. Lovely food: fondue and steak. Well priced drinks. Dance and sang along till late. Well looked after by Lucky Luke. Don’t miss out book in advance.
