What User doesn't like about Piedmont’s Table Lansdowne Resort:
no good food. we ordered appetizers, suppe and entrees and all three courses came at the same time. eating was mediocre at best, and no one seemed responsible for it. we sat for some time, just waiting for our bill. we had to get up and get out to find someone who gives us our bill. very disappointing. we will not return. My wife and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary at Landsdowne Resort this past weekend. We had an amazing dinner at the Crooked Billet. First, the atmosphere and view are so cozy and romantic with views of the golf course, warm decor, and a beautiful fireplace. Secondly, the food was out of this world! Everything was filled with flavor and expertly prepared! We had Kirby as our waiter. He was outstanding! Overall, we had one of the best meals in our lives as can't wait to come back!
This could be good for a family, a couple, or as we saw a few tables away, a girl's night out. The menu is versatile, with lighter and heavier dishes as well. Reasonably priced and amazing desserts. Very well priced wine list. The service was nice and the carpeted floors helped to silence any extra noise.
The setting is great. Sat on patio which has a beautiful view all the way to the Potomac. The service was horribly slow. We were the only people in the entire restaurant (table of 8) and it took 10 minutes to get water. Then another 10+ before they came back to take our order. The meatloaf was so overdone it was like eating a brick. The menu was too Applebee's-ish to be reservation worthy and located on a resort.
We tried going here for our anniversary as an opportunity to try a new place and thought the description sounded nice on Open Table. After taking awhile to find the restaurant (as noted in the description it is in the club house not the resort, and even in the club house it is not well marked) we got there to find it completely empty at 7pm. Not just of diners, but also staff. We walked around the restaurant a bit. Note that it really is more of the club bar then a restaurant, just a partial wall divide the two. Not seeing any waiters, hosts, or anyone we left to go eat elsewhere.
It was simply awful. Our server was great and he did his best but the food was terrible.
