Was in Mont-Saint-Michel for a visit while staying in Le Harve, and after doing a 3 hour coach journey from there, then 4 hours walking around Mont-Saint-Michel, me and my family were in need of a spot of lunch before the coach ride back to Le Harve. Mont-Saint-Michel is is a rather pleasant place, but full of a over priced mixture of chain store bakers, souvenir shops and somewhat up market restaurants. Au Pelerin was a nice find, just a small little one room French cafe/bar with not to bad prices. Not somewhere you will get a fancy meal, but for a beer and a freshly prepared Croque monsieur, it will fill a hole at lunchtime until you get back back to where you started from. Staff are great and speak excellent English.
After walking around this amazing island, popped into Au Pelerin for a coffee. Small quint place with a very good server/host. He spoke perfect English and served two gorgeous cups of coffee at a very reasonable €6. also appeared to have good value in rolls and chips, fries Well worth a visit. Recommended..
I visited mt st michael in May and I do a duty to come here years later to praise the place. I ate a great croque-monsieur that stayed engraved in my memory. the atmosphere is pleasant and there are other options for quick snacks, such as hot dogs, pizzas, fries, etc. and the best, they have excellent beer options.
We stopped here for a pizza and a sandwich during our short visit to Mont St Michel. The La Reine pizza was okay and so was the ham sandwich. The place was less crowded at lunchtime than a lot of the other establishments we passed on our way through. for pizza and for sandwich
We were a family group of 14 including 5 young children visiting Mont St Michel, so knew it would be difficult to get seating for lunch in the small restaurants. I ordered box lunches in advance at Au Pelerin and we found a lovely spot to eat them outside. The lunches were wonderful with sandwiches made to order on fresh, delicious bread, apples, chips, cookies and soft drinks.
