Well I cannot agree with the last reviewer, I had a great meal.Simply put. This was fabulous. As you enter, you are looked after personally. We were made to feel warm and immediately comfortable; a fantastic village French welcome. To have a reception like this makes you wonder what joy you’re in for from the menu. So to the food;Truthfully it is one of the most minimalist menus I’ve seen in a while; But less is more... View all feedback.
Staying at a local hotel and we were recommended Chez Marthe for a good meal. Exceeded all expectations. Warm welcome (both in French and English) and shown to a lovely two seater and talked through the menu which offered pizza to chicken. The man who we presumed tobe the owner, was interested in what we were doing and where we have been- very pleasant and not full on. Food was delightful (highly recommend the creme caramel- it's his grandmothers recipe). What really made the night was when the chef came out to speak to us, albeit briefly as the orders were coming through thick and fast! Please visit, you will not be disappointed!
We have a second home in le Monêtier, so we know the restaurants well. Chez Marthe is one of our favourites. Run by ski teacher Manou it is named after his grandmother. A small menu: great homemade pizzas - not bought in bases! Also salads, steak or chicken a la plancha, and a dish of the day. Puddings always include granny's recipe of crème brûlée. Warm ambiance with a warm welcome from Manou and a great playlist selected by his wife.
Everything about the restaurant is top quality. Excellent food and wine . Very friendly owner and chef with great service Really enjoyable evening . Mixed cheeses and meats to start . Beef as a main course with lots of clever additions . Creme caramel and chocolate mousse as deserts . All excellent !
In a nutshell....A great place for a great plate of food. A kind and warm service with people that obviously care a lot about what they have built here and that to me is golden. We will of course return and advise any one in the area to visit : )

I am not going to say anymore than, we loved it.A fabulously, easy and unfussed menu, that is looked after with genuine care and serious honest skill. I loved the global influence of the place. It’s truly an example of the French taking it further.Chez Marthe is a hidden gem. Don’t tell anyone!!!!
