Dining here was fantastic—definitely some of the best sushi I’ve ever had! I highly recommend this place. They don’t serve alcohol, but they are fine with you bringing your own and enjoying it with your meal. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tokyo Sushi:
"We placed our order and were impressed with the quick response and delivery. However, the pork bulgogi was quite tough, which was disappointing, especially considering our expectations for a Japanese restaurant. The rainbow roll had a strong odor and unfortunately tasted just as unpleasant. The salmon and avocado roll was decent, while the unagi nigiri stood out as a highlight of the meal.".
I'm honestly very confused about my experience here. at the beginning, there is nothing like the pictures online-it is very small, not modern at all, there are outside seats, etc. I am not sure whether a part of it is closed during the kovid and never opened again? but it looks quite different than the pictures. I am here twice and the sushi is pretty good, the service is simply interesting. recently: we came there and there was a young man as a host. he offered to sit either inside or outside on the terrace, and we said outside seemed nice. he was a little bit of a bit, and told us that we had to wait because all tables were full, handed over a menu and pointed to some bar tools. we sat down and saw our menus for maybe thirty seconds, then someone else was addressed asking what we wanted to drink and if we knew what we wanted to order. it only felt very fast when we had not even our table yet. he then came back in and said to us that you are the only clean, instead of leading us out of the door or showing us where to sit. he stayed inside. we sat for a few minutes when he came with our drinks and apologised that he had nothing or put on the table and said it was when we got our food. he went to take care of the table next to us and loudly apologized for the water shed and fall some of their rolls on the floor. I think that made me a little nervous to be served by him? after that our evening went very smooth and we were politely remembered when they went to the end, no big thing. sushi was pretty good, nothing really bad, just kind of interesting. not sure if I would go back because it wasn't the kindest, but also no bad experience.
Reasonably priced, sushi/sashimi is fresh. Wish there was more indoor seating. Tempura is great ramen could use improvement.
Tokyo sushi has the best sushi ? in Lawrence! It's delicious and authentic. Fresh and very good ?
If I could give zero stars I would. Really wanted to try this place. Walked in and it wasn’t busy. A couple and a group of five in front of us who looked like they had been there a while. All the tables were dirty. It took staff forever to clean. We asked for a table but got sat at the bar by the window because it was going to take the server too long to clean the table. We sat down and looked at the menu for 30 minutes. No one asked what we wanted to drink or anything. Ended up leaving. Thanks for the horrible service and wasting our time.
Tried this place for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! I tried the Stonehenge roll and the baked lobster roll and they were great! Best sushi I've had in Lawrence. Will definitely e back.
