What niemand doesn't like about Restaurant Il Ghiotto:
We discovered this little Italian restaurant when we went to the Lausanne cathedral for a concert. Since we had no reservations, we had to go after the concert to obtain a table. I had the fagottini with venison, it was quite garlicky which I enjoyed a lot. My wife chose the spaghetti carbonara, and we each had A Campari before dinner, a glass of house wine, and espressos. Casual little Italian restaurant near the Lausanne Cathedral. Excellent food and service provided by the owner. Wise choice!
As a regular visitor, I can confidently say this restaurant serves the best pasta in Lausanne. The fresh pasta is always perfect cooked and bursting with flavor, making each visit a culinary delight. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for 2 or a casual dinner with friends,il ghiotto is perfect choice for those who love great food.
Located in one of the most typical place of Lausanne, between the cathedral and the old castle. The restaurant has an outdoor terrace with a great view on the cathedral. The street is pedestrian which is great for children who can play in the street during the lunch. The food is the usual italian, but the meals are home-cooked and you feel the difference in your plate. The waitress was very nice and professional. The bill is very reasonable, nearly cheap given the great location and the touristic neighborhood.
By chance we found this truly excellent Italian Restaurant in Lausanne. The menu looked interesting so we gave it a shot. My wife and daughter each had an entire menu. I had only an entree. Everything was top notch as we all tried each others dishes. The pastas were different than the norm and they were all perfect. The appetizers and the desserts were equally up to the task. By Lausanne standars the prices were OK but when you consider the quality it was a very good deal. I totally recommend Il Ghiotto.
Great Italian restaurant in the old town. A bit hidden, no restaurants or shops close by. Very friendly staff. Nice size portions. My kids were disappointed that there was no pizza but they loved the pasta and the hostess was very accommodating.
