So I grew up in New York, and this thing is the closest place I’ve seen to it since I’ve left. The breakfast was amazing, all the pastries were super delicious. I talked to the guy at the counter about ny and our favorite pastries for 15 minutes. Definitely going to go back to try more great experience. Even the plate reminded me of New York. What Ken A doesn't like about The Bagel Cafe:
This place went down hill a bit compared to 8 years ago. The pickled herring with onions was NOT good. The onion bagels were not that good, the NY KNISH truly lacked flavor and the Tiramisu lacked flavor as well. Tip jars all over the place on the counter tops..I won't be back. Very disappointed. Toasted the HELL out of my poor bagel, felt like I was biting into drywall at some parts, food was still fire tho, 5/5 all day long
Place is very unorganized. No menu anywhere to order to go. I asked the order to go area what I need to do and they just ask me what I want. I asked how do I know if I don't know what they have. He just shoot off telling me some things. My girl and I got very frustrated with the service even after telling it's our first time. So we left. Many other people were saying the same thing while being here. This place gets a 0 in my book. Go to Abel's Bagels. Blows this away
Impressed with everything. Cheap bagels, bottomless coffee even got complimentary bagel chips cream cheese while we waited for our bagels. I got the everything bagel with butter jelly $3.50 and my husband got the blueberry bagel with cream cheese $5. Definitely reminds me of the bagels we used to get in New Jersey/New York. Excellent choice for a breakfast!
Ok so I LOVE the food and baked goods here but the service is so lacking. They're always so busy that I never feel like I'm getting good service and I'm just barely getting the food I order (if that). You gotta ask for drink refills, whatever you need because your waiter isnt keeping up. Even when I order to go they mostly get my order wrong. But the food is so scrumptious that I roll the dice, it is Vegas after all.
